During the beginning of the global Coronavirus outbreak and the emergence of some cases locally, the Jordanian government carried out wide closures and a comprehensive ban for about a month. This matter was accompanied by an increase in the burden on the health care sector and health personnel. With the complete closure, the transportation of nurses to and from the hospital became a challenge to King Hussein Cancer Center administration, where all available transportations were used to ensure the safe access of medical personnel to their work. Due to the tremendous pressure on the few vehicles available at the beginning of the pandemic, priority was given to nurses living in remote places to reach their own housing near the center safely.
Dya'deen is a registered nurse working in the Adult Intensive Care Unit. He is an active, enthusiastic, and professional nurse. He also came to his work daily without any delay. By chance, we knew that Dya'deen, who lives in his house about 3 km away, walks daily to the center to do his duty towards the patients. At the end of his work, he came back to his home on foot.
Dya'deen worked silently and without making any concern. He aimed to care for patients, regardless of any circumstances.
Dya'deen is a DAISY Nurse.
Thank you, Dya'deen.
