Deysi took care of our son during his final days on earth. She was very professional and also had a thoughtful, kind, and caring presence about her. One evening that stands out to me is on the third night of C's care. I watched Deysi going about the business of taking care of C, talking to him, and telling him what she was doing and how she was caring for him. She must have seen the look of exhaustion on my face, having been awake and by C's side for 36 hours. She brought me a blanket and dimmed the lights. When I woke, I found C had been tucked in neatly with a blanket given by his aunt and his arm wrapped around a teddy bear with the care only a mother would know. She had spent the night treating him as if he were her own. At 19, C was still very much a little boy and would have appreciated the motherly kindness that was shown to him. He truly was a mama's boy. Thank you, Deysi. Your compassion and dedication to our son and others are appreciated more than you know.
