De’Zarae always is giving extra care and effort to honor her patients.
A patient was to have a procedure in ENDO and go home. However, this patient got admitted and then diagnosed with cancer. The patient was devastated by this news. She was to celebrate her 31st wedding anniversary with her husband—well that was not going to happen now. They would have to plan chemo, etc. However, that would not happen on our unit.
De’Zarae called me to see if she could make this day for her patient. With her selfless heart, she made a celebratory candlelight dinner happen by collaborating and networking. She got flowers, wine, steak, baked potatoes, anniversary cake, and blankets. De’Zarae always is giving extra care and effort to honor her patients. She models and exceeds “The TriHealth Way” ALWAYS Behaviors.

De’Zarae went above and beyond for her patient who recently received a new cancer diagnosis. She threw and planned an anniversary party with the help of our Chaplin for this patient who was sad and emotional about spending her wedding anniversary here in the hospital. De’Zarae planned a wonderful surprise party with food, wine, flameless candles for the patient and her husband. She is the epitome of a compassionate and selfless nurse we should all try to be.
