Diana is tender and dear to her patients. Always.
Diana is a team player, an excellent practitioner, a thoughtful charge nurse, and a compassionate bedside nurse. These are examples from just this week. Seriously. One of our hospice patients was a full code and quickly declining. Diana had a conversation with the family first thing in the morning to discuss this as the patient now could not speak for herself. The family decided to switch her to DNR and the patient died peacefully in the next 24 hours.

Diana is an excellent clinical nurse with clear and honest communication skills. Because of this, she is able to establish rapport and trust with patients and their families quickly. She is tender and dear to her patients. Always. She is also the charge nurse frequently and I cannot even tell you how much I appreciate her oversight. She divides up the patients equally taking in all of the details (GIP, acuity, isolation, charting needs, etc.).

As she cares for her patients, she cares for the house. She is always wandering around the entire house making sure you are ok, sanitizing things, taking out the garbage, etc. She is an excellent team player. The other day another nurse had an issue with a discharge (in Epic). Even though Diana did not know the solution she stuck with the nurse and called the supervisor on-call who then helped her understand the problem and resolve it. She stays with you until things are resolved.

She is an excellent teacher. I have been a nurse for 25 years but I am always asking her questions. She is non-judgemental, she offers many solutions, and she will always help if needed. Honestly, this gal is one special nurse. She is a true DAISY Nurse. I want to say she is 68... which is just such a great example. I am 52 and pray to God I have her dedication to the nursing profession 16 years from now.
