Diana Cariaga
There are people who do their job, and then there are people who leave a permanent mark on your heart. Diana is one of those rare nurses. She has been caring for my son since he was only six months old. Today, he is two years old, and throughout this journey, she has been so much more than a nurse—she has been a source of comfort, hope, and unconditional love.
She has always treated my baby as if he were her own. Whenever I couldn’t be by my son’s side, I never had to worry because I knew he was in the best hands. She cared for him with genuine compassion, patience, and tenderness that no words can fully describe.
What touched me the most was that even when she wasn’t assigned to care for my son, she would still be available to visit him. She would check on him, comfort him, and make sure he was doing well. She never made us feel like we were just another patient and family. We felt seen, cared for, and loved.
Diana has always kept me updated with every new milestone, every change in my son’s condition, and every little detail that mattered. Those updates gave me peace of mind during some of the most difficult moments of my life as a parent. Her kindness and reassurance reminded me that I was not facing this journey alone.
Because of her, the hospital felt less frightening and more like a place filled with hope. My son always recognized her warmth, and I could see how safe and comfortable he felt in her presence.
Diana embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for: extraordinary clinical care, compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her patients. She has made an immeasurable difference in our lives, and I will forever be grateful for the love and care she gave my son.
