This may have been one of the scariest moments of our life. It was filled with so much uncertainty as to what was happening to the health of our father. Through it all the peace, laughter, compassion, and thoughtfulness that Diana gave us cannot be measured.
Every nurse takes an oath to be dedicated to their work but to my family & I that oath went above and beyond. This may have been one of the scariest moments of our life. It was filled with so much uncertainty as to what was happening to the health of our father. Through it all the peace, laughter, compassion, and thoughtfulness that Diana gave us cannot be measured. The possibility of cancer is so scary because everyone’s first thought is “terminal”. Yet in the past couple of days, Diana made sure to keep everything positive, realistic but positive. We are thankful for keeping my dad's and our spirits up. Thank you for answering our questions to the best that you could and just keeping us at peace in such an uncertain time. Especially when there was no fast answer. It is so hard to play the waiting game for medical results, but I don’t think we ever felt impatient or like no one was giving us answers. Also, she is speaking Spanish so it didn’t have to be just me and my sister translating everything means so much. We may know some medical terms but not all and having a Spanish-speaking nurse was a tremendous help! I know my parents felt so understood by Diana, she always made sure to ask if we needed anything. If we were missing something, she grabbed it for us right away. We were released from the hospital today, and we have an appointment with the Blood Specialist Doctor on Monday. We may not know yet what is causing my dad's blood cells & vitamin B12 to be so low, but I know we left with a positive mindset and so much hope thanks to a positive and extremely helpful Nurse & Doctors.
