When providing care for our patients she demonstrates kindness and compassion.
Diana has just started in her new role and has been a true leader. She started on day one by uniting the PACU as a team that works together under her direction as Care Manager. She respects and listens to all the staff and takes all input and makes the unit work cohesively.

Diana stays calm under pressure. When the PACU fills up and the OR is on hold she knows how to manage a very stressful situation and lower the tension in the PACU with clear direction and action. She always helps everyone and is aware when one of the nurses is becoming overwhelmed and assists them with any difficulties.

Diana always takes into account the patients and their families. She understands the stress that families are under not being able to visit the PACU since COVID. She will call the families and update them with pertinent information. When providing care for our patients she demonstrates kindness and compassion. She always is professional and knowledgeable and educates the patients about their surgery.

Diana is a wonderful resource for the staff who may have questions. She has recently made a binder in the unit with materials for us to review for the CPAN certification. We have recently had an influx of new staff and Diana has been there to support them during their orientation both clinically and emotionally. She has also helped better organize the PACU so that supplies and emergency equipment are easily accessible when needed. Diana started WhatsApp with all the staff to keep everyone updated and also to be able to put a call out for additional help.

Also, on day one she brought aromatherapy to our nurses’ lounge to help staff relax on their breaks. During our breaks, she has encouraged coloring on wall posters for relaxation and team building. She has put a true effort into making the PACU a pleasant, professional place to work. She has put all her energy into her new role as a Care Manager of the PACU. Diana has been a true leader and role model for all of us.
