April 2026 Honoree
Diana Gennaro, LPN
Diana Gennaro was nominated by a patient's family member, and here is their nomination story:
My Brother M was a patient with terminal Cancer. This was a tough decision to have M placed in the comfort care unit; however, it was the best decision based on the extent of the cancer. Diana exemplifies every standard of excellence set by both SVH and nursing professionalism. Diana attended to M, as well as to us, his family, during our emotional and exhausting experience. She took care in making sure M was as comfortable as possible. She asked that if during the night M took a turn for the worse, she would call us so we could be with M. She did call, and when we arrived, she was there waiting for us in M's room. Diana told us what was happening, and with her help, M calmed down and had a restful night. So, to all of M's family, Diana is a scrub-wearing, smile-bringing, lifesaving rockstar who lives to heal and loves to show care to all with compassion and willingness to do the very best for her patients.
