She was very impressed and taken aback by how many "extra miles" nurse Benenati went, from coordinating with various other professional staff in various departments to communicating with her constantly throughout the process.
I was approached by a patient who stated one of her parents had just passed away, and that week she was in dire need of medications, but also having to juggle the strong emotions a passing brings, as well as getting herself/her family ready to travel to assist with funeral arrangements. She stated Nurse Benenati took the time to listen to her and was extremely diligent in ensuring her medications were fast-tracked so that she could have them before her flight. She was very impressed and taken aback by how many "extra miles" nurse Benenati went, from coordinating with various other professional staff in various departments to communicating with her constantly throughout the process. She approached me (another staff member on the flight) to tell me about her experience because she wanted to make sure that nurse Benenati received the deepest thank you for her "above and beyond" caring attitude during such a crucial time in her life. I cannot think of a better way to pass the thank you along than to award Mrs. Diana "Dee" Benenati with a DAISY Award.
