Diana is a true leader of the nursing profession despite her novice level. Notably, she set and met a high standard within her nursing school academically, completing this daunting achievement while taking care of her three kids and with her husband deployed, and by serving at the state level for the student nurses ' association. Additionally, she distinguished herself through cultivating a community which fostered leadership among her peers. Outstandingly, Diana personifies the Watson 's Nursing Theory through her efforts to promote interpersonal teaching and learning between peer groups. An example I witnessed was her sharing the individualized interventions she implemented when directing the care for her long-term care resident. Having learned which interventions brought effective therapeutic outcomes, Diana collaborated with the succeeding cohorts mentoring following students to establish a comprehensive, curative care plan for this resident.
