I’m a college student and came into the Emergency Department late at night because of abdominal pain that ended up being appendicitis. By the time I got a bed, I was exhausted, delirious with pain, and so scared that I couldn’t stop crying.

Diana was so kind and comforting, constantly checking on me and making sure I had everything I needed. I believe there was a moment when someone had called her to do something else while she was with me, and she made sure to stay with me, stating that she wouldn’t leave me yet because I’m in so much pain and needed someone.

Later on, my boyfriend (who had been with me throughout the night) ended up trying to sleep on the floor, and she even got him blankets so he could have some cushion. I was terrified and confused about what was happening, but Diana made me feel seen and cared for.

I’ve had several experiences where I felt like nothing more than a task to check off a to-do list, and Diana was far from that. She is the best and deserves every bit of praise imaginable!
