Diane is not just an Extraordinary Nurse, but also an extraordinary person.
I am blessed to have had her as my breast care nurse for a full year. Diane always listened with empathy and compassion and was kind, patient, and thorough during our many discussions. She helped to allay the many fears which I had. Diane celebrated with me when I got good news and commiserated when the disease progressed. I always felt I was important to Diane as she went above and beyond her call of duty by calling to ask how chemo was going, checking on me following hospital admissions for infections and ensuring I was seen urgently following changes to my breast. Following a recurrence, Diane encouraged me not to give up hope and I haven't, despite my disease progressing even further.
I would like to thank Diane for being that constant, calm presence for me since I was diagnosed; she is truly extraordinary and is a credit to the nursing profession.
Thank you, Diane.
