It gives me immense pleasure to nominate Diane for a DAISY Award. Diane was the resource nurse at SSC on a Tuesday evening. That evening there was an elderly patient who needed to be transferred to a higher level of care. For us, this means a transfer to the Bramhall campus. His wife was not going to be able to drive to MMC, as it was getting dark, and she was concerned about driving at night. The patient was transferred late into the shift. Diane offered to follow the patient's wife home to make sure she was safe, which she did. She not only accompanied this patient's wife back home but helped her carry her bag inside. Diane truly went above and beyond, not just for the patient but for his wife. She truly encompasses all of MMC's values. I am honored to work beside Diane each and every day. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share another example of the great work nurses do here that often goes overlooked.
