I was the "loved one." I brought my daughter-in-law into the ED. Diane included me in everything that was happening. When I waited outside the room she welcomed me in to be at the bedside. I was aware of the seriousness of my daughter-in-law's condition, yet Diane was able to make us feel she would take care of everything! She took charge, was efficient, explained every little thing. Diane had excellent IV skills - 3 in all! All on the first attempt! Other staff deferred to her. I felt very comfortable with my daughter-in-law in her hands. Diane has been a nurse for many years and she is competent, friendly and conscientious. She always smiles and says "Hi" when we meet. I know Diane has stood up for others who have had difficult times. I don't know for sure, but I would bet Diane would always volunteer for extra hours if needed to care for a patient - caring is what she does.
