September 2023 Honoree
Diane M. Maxwell, LPN
My mother was the patient today. I brought my mother to her appointment at the Austin Clinic for her blood pressure to be checked. Diane was wonderfully kind, compassionate, and very patient with my mom. At the start of her appointment my mother was having trouble with her hearing aids, but Diane helped her to put them in properly. Diane patiently and politely listened to my mother's extended conversation talking about her past and current health concerns. Diane helped my mother to relax in preparation for her blood pressure readings. Diane told her to pretend/imagine she was in her favorite rocking chair rocking a baby; and she said she would go out of the room for four minutes and be back to take her blood pressure. Diane used the child's blood pressure cuff because my mother is very small (84 pounds). Thankfully her blood pressure turned out great, a great improvement from last time. Diane when asked, also gave us an After Visit Summary and took time to review my mother's meds with her. Unexpectedly, I started to cough, and Diane brought me water. We could not have asked for a more special and wonderful caring nurse. We are certain Diane blesses all her patients, as she was an extra special blessing to us. Thank you, Diane!!
Thank you, Diane M., for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
