Diane is the most professional, caring, competent nurse I have encountered at your facility. My partner was a patient at your facility and not doing well. His list of problems was quite long. It was starting to appear that he may need a liver and kidney transplant after he was stabilized from sepsis and pneumonia. To make matters worse, his insurance would not cover the transplant. After much discussion with administrators, we determined a decision had to be made. We spoke with Diane and she explained much of his problems clearly and concisely. We made the decision to transfer to U of M as the transplant would be paid for at network levels. This was a stressful decision with many administrative issues at both facilities. Diane personally handled all the craziness of this transfer when I began beating my head against two facilities, an insurance company and the many rules and criteria that come with all three. It is my personal belief that my partner would not be alive today without her help in transferring to The University of Michigan transplant team.
Diane's current manager said, "Diane has been quite successful getting through her orientation on 5 East. She is self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic. She wants to be involved on the unit. The staff enjoys working with Diane."
Her previous manager, Tina has this to add about Diane: " Diane's dedication to her patients was evident from the beginning. She has always shown a great deal of compassion in her daily work and her patients and their families are immediately fond of her. Diane goes above and beyond for her patients and she is the first to advocate for her patients and their families. Their faith and trust in her and her abilities has been reflected in feedback time and time again. She is described by her co-workers as the ultimate team player. She is very personable with patients and their families, always striving to find at least one thing in common to truly bond with them."
