Diane's care for my wife was extraordinary.
Good morning! My wife and I would like to send a message of gratitude and respect to all the doctors, nurses, residents, nurse practitioners, cleaning staff, etc. who attended to mother and baby, and even dad while we stayed here at Abington Jefferson. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. While this was not the first child my wife delivered here, it certainly felt like one of the most special. We don't know exactly why we feel that way. We are sure that the seamless flow of workers despite the challenges that COVID-19 is presenting plays a large part in it. You all truly are heroes!
There is one star however that shined particularly bright for us. We felt so fortunate to have Diane for every one of the 3 days we stayed in the postpartum area. (I want to be extremely clear that every caretaker we had was everything we could have hoped for. The two nurses that we had throughout the majority of our care were exceptional. I don't have enough positive adjectives to describe both nurses we had.) We would like to make a special note about Dianne!
Her care for my wife was extraordinary. The care, sensitivity, passion, and understanding became apparent from the second my wife came into the postpartum ward. She remembered us from our stay a short 14 months ago. But more than just recognizing us she recalled our last baby, our other children, our preferences, and our religious needs. We felt that she did much more than her "job"; we felt that she wanted to care for mom and baby as evidenced by the many details of our stay here that she attended which were well beyond her job description. In our view, she exemplifies what a true caretaker is. She not only attended to a high point in our life, but she also shared it with us and undoubtedly made it better.
Please recognize Diane for us along with all of the maternity care staff who do their often thankless work so effortlessly. They lit up our lives and we know they will light up the lives of so many others!
