I was admitted to Halifax Health for abnormal blood labs due to my End Stage Renal Failure. Little did I know the "perfect storm" of medical issues that was about to follow. I had a liter of infected pleural fluid drained from my lungs followed with 720 ml of blood that was basically drowning me. I went from bad to worse overnight and I felt like I was not going to be strong enough to pull through the 100 procedures that were coming. My nurse, Diane, was a complete angel. She made me feel like she was my guardian angel. I was scared, and she talked me through it. When I was angry, she talked me off the ledge. When I didn't understand something, she and she alone took the time to make sure I understood.
