At 6 days old, my son had open-heart surgery. Many days followed and we saw no progress. We were all getting worried. The day Diane got assigned to be his nurse, was the day we saw a huge turnaround. He was more aware and alert and the days that followed we were able to wean many medications. Even oxygen was weaned. I'm a first-time mom, so I overloaded Diane with questions, but she always answered them promptly. She was always there when a monitor beeped to check on my boy. She also let me hold him every day which meant a lot. She still stops by and checks on him to this day. She is such a young, ambitious, and caring nurse who I will never forget. We are so grateful for Diane.
