I am contacting you to talk about Diane Thomas the amazing RN who bought my family so much comfort in our time of need while she was working the night shift. My brother was the unfortunate victim of Gunshot violence (He survived) around 4:00 pm Monday afternoon and our family was distraught. We couldn't get an accurate update on his condition, we were frustrated, scared, and feeling hopeless. Around 7:00 p.m. My Aunt stopped a nurse walking by and asked for an update and as a result of that interaction, we were blessed with the kindest, most thoughtful, and thorough human being in Diane Thomas.

Ms. Diane, just coming on shift, in the midst of all her patients and duties checked in with us whenever she could, she explained the process of what was happening with my brother to my family, facilitated updates, and helped us navigate the space around us with truth and compassion. It really meant the world to us. Ms. Diane contacted the OR and got a trauma resident to come to speak with us. Ms. Diane listened to our grievances and assisted in correcting them. Ms. Diane literally held our hands we when were shaking and terrified. Her presence, professionalism, demeanor, and personality deserve to be recognized and praised. Even when Ms. Diane got really busy, she took the time to let us know that we weren't forgotten. Ms. Diane helped us transition to another kind soul at your facility.

Ms. Diane treated us as human beings and not as burdens that needed to be managed. Ms. Diane's dedication was unmatched, and her inner light was so bright it illuminated like a beacon in a lighthouse to a lost ship at sea. We as a family are forever grateful for the actions of Ms. Diane and there was no way we couldn't talk about it. It was important to us that her managers and supervisors were aware of the phenomenal team member they have. Ms. Diane is a jewel, and everyone needs to know it.
