My father was admitted for a perforated abscess in his colon. He was on NPO for over 2 weeks and IV antibiotics and had just started solid foods for a couple days when Nurse Dianey was back on schedule as his nurse.

Dianey always took time to give me updates when I visited and mentioned how much she loved my dad. She gave him extra encouragement to drink his protein drinks and helped him order foods as he was still slow eating. She also took extra time to spend with him by getting him in the caddy chair and wheeling him in hallways to the window to get sunlight and encouraged him to talk about his life for 3-4 hours in the afternoon. It was so helpful to know she genuinely cared for him and I believe really took extra time to ensure he was comfortable, safe and also helped in his recovery steps.

Not every nurse has made time to care this much or give extra time including being willing to answer questions I had when I called or visited. Dianey is a true DAISY Nurse!
