October 2022 Honoree
Dianna Bennington, RN
Ms. Bennington is a Home-Based Primary Care nurse who was nominated by a patient she had newly admitted into the program. The Veteran who nominated Ms. Bennington states the following about the type of nurse she is:
"Dianna consistently promotes high standards of care delivery by encouraging me to have input to my health needs. She checks my medications explaining what each one is for and why I am taking it. She facilitated Telehealth so I could have peace of mind with checking my blood pressure daily. Dianna certainly has a lot of insight into my needs before I could express them.
Dianna exudes positivity and professionalism each time I see her. I was becoming very down in the dumps because my wife has Alzheimer’s and this was taking a toll on me. Dianna proceeded to advocate for more HHA/HM help for me. She also sat and listened to me express how I was feeling and she provided positive counseling. I felt like I was going down the hole to depression but she pulled me up by the seat of my pants. She saved me!"
This is Dianna's 2nd DAISY Award!
