I had twin boys a little bit prematurely (a few weeks early) and, while I had already mentally prepared for a NICU stay, I really had no idea what to expect. Di immediately felt like a friend walking with us during our time here. She literally laughed and cried happy tears with me during different milestones. She offered words of advice, calm guidance, jokes, and stories about the ups and downs of her NICU experience with her own child a few years ago. Knowing that she understood our thoughts and feelings, and the emotional roller-coaster of NICU life (especially when you have two other kids at home) was so comforting for me. Leaving for the day was never scary because I knew the boys were in good hands. She's professional, attentive, and knows her stuff. I never felt like the boys weren't getting quick attention if an alarm was going off in their isolette. She was always quick to check on them and let us know what was going on. I just really feel like she made this experience one where we walked alongside a friend - we are very grateful knowing she cared for our boys like they were her own - we will never forget Di!
