July 2023 Honoree
Dianna (Sunshine) W Rockymore, MBA, MSN, RN
I was 32 weeks pregnant and came into the hospital for decreased movement. I found out in triage that my baby did not have a heartbeat. Sunshine was my assigned nurse, and she was the best. I was scared, emotionally a wreck, and wasn't sure what to expect. She took good care of my whole family. She explained to us what was going to happen and what to expect when having a stillborn. She had the best personality. She even managed to make us laugh when I didn't think I was able to. She got clothes and made a diaper for my little boy in case we would not be able to get any small enough. I delivered the next day, and she was not working but she still came up to the hospital and visited my husband and me. I asked her if she saw my baby boy and she replied joyfully, "He is beautiful!" She made me feel like he was acknowledged and treated us as if he were a healthy baby boy. I am so thankful that she was my nurse. The world needs more people and nurses like Sunshine. She truly is sunshine when you cannot see the light.
Thank you, Dianna (Sunshine) W, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
