Dianna Wills 2, RN, CPN

For the past three years, Dianna has walked alongside our family as my five-year-old daughter’s primary pediatric oncology nurse. She is our literal angel in blue scrubs. We truly could not have made it through the long clinic days without her constant presence, reassurance, and steady care. She has been with us through it all.

From helping my daughter through countless port accesses, allergic reactions, and sick visits, to walking with us through the potty-training phase. From taking the time to have little concerts, paint rocks, and color pictures, to gently removing dressings from her sensitive little chest and carefully choosing the very best Band-Aids. She even played a part in arranging a meet and greet with Lainey Wilson, my daughter’s favorite singer.

She shared her family stories with us and listened to ours, giving the long clinic days a sense of normalcy when very little about this journey felt normal. She answered every question, calmed every worry, and reminded us that we were never alone. 

There isn’t just one story that could capture the difference she has made in our lives.  She isn’t simply a nurse to us; she is family. The smallest, everyday things for Dianna were truly the biggest things to us. We will forever be grateful.
