Diego Salazar provided exceptional care for my father-in-law, during his stay at Elkhart General Hospital. My father-in-law has seen many nurses throughout his health journey and none have done as great as Diego. He was comforting, knew proper protocol, and never made my family feel like we were just another number. Diego always took his time when checking up on my father-in-law and never did anything half-baked. His ability to speak Spanish also made it easier for my father-in-law to express his concerns. My wife and I always knew my father-in-law was in the best hands when Diego was there. We appreciate all his work.

Diego went above and beyond for my dad during his time at EGH, so much so that my father encouraged me to write this on his behalf. If you know my father, he is not particularly fond of nurses as he has spent many years being treated by them, which makes his endorsement of Diego even more surprising and genuine. Diego always showed compassion and patience towards my dad. His ability to speak Spanish also helped my dad feel more at ease. And they’d even crack jokes at times. Diego also always asked me and my husband if we ever needed anything when visiting, which was much appreciated. He was always kind, smiling, and listened carefully to my father’s needs. He did a fantastic job at making my father feel comfortable and genuinely seemed to care about his wellbeing. I have never met a nurse as amazing as him, and we will never forget his exceptional care and the huge difference it made during my father’s stay.
