She held my hand and made me laugh.
I am writing this because Dione is an amazing nurse who shows compassion, empathy, and consideration in the work she does. Dione came one early morning. I had been induced the day before unexpectedly and was still not making a lot of progress towards the birth of my son. Dione was ready for this adventure. She came on and right away connected with my best friend. As I am a staff member who works for Sandra Eskenazi connection is a huge part of my job and overall life. I look for kindness in people and right away we knew that she was going to take care of me. Dione regularly came in and out. She did her duties yet so much more. She told me about her children which this instilled hope for my own baby's future. A balloon had been inserted and I had been being checked every three to four hours with little progress Dione never missed a beat. She held my hand and made me laugh. I confided in her that my best friend was present because my mother is currently on hospice, and she showed understanding and provided support around this. Dione is amazing at what she does and her experience as a nurse and a compassionate person should not go unnoticed or unrecognized. Her impact in my life was huge and I will forever be grateful to her for not only taking care of her nurse duties but for talking to me and letting me know that I am a valuable human being and she cared not only for my future but for my son's as well. Her work did not stop there. She was able to be present for the birth of my son and after he went to the NICU, she came to see us and check in when she was back at the hospital. Please value the nurses that go above and beyond. Dione is changing one life at a time. My gratitude for her experience, strength, and hope and her ability to share this with others is impactful. Thanks Dione. My son is here and healthy and home because you were my nurse. My gratitude for you is indescribable.
