Dixie Stamey, BSN, RN, PMHNC

Dixie is devoted to her unit. She answers hundreds of questions each night and provides guidance. She works quickly and accurately. Many times, she is cleaning the floor of a dried spill and picking up paper off the floor. She is a team player.

This girl never sleeps. She fills in for open nurse or tech spots whenever needed and always has a smile. Dixie remains calm and professional, even with trying patients, and never complains. She has such a kind heart.

We had a patient on BHU threatening and aggressive to another patient and staff (staff members were hurt). We had another patient who was aggressive toward another patient, requiring meds. Dixie was upstairs helping North with a restraint when the first event happened. When Dixie returned to the unit, she talked to every staff member and assessed their needs. Dixie stepped in as charge and completed the night with grace and safety to our patients and staff. She had the unit calm leaving patients and staff feeling safe.
