May 2022 Honoree
Dolores Cortes, RN
I don’t remember a lot about the night after my surgery but what I do remember is that Dolores was endlessly kind to me and made sure that I was calm and comfortable. My eye was caked shut with blood and she took time and care to wash the blood from my eye so it could open and close again.
I remember holding her hand and we looked into each other’s eyes the morning she left her shift. I just know that that night would’ve been so much harder without Dolores and I’m very grateful to her for being a nurse and for being a compassionate and loving human being.

Thank you, Dolores, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
