Dolores treated me with such compassion and tenderness. Although she was very busy she made me feel like I was her only patient. I felt like she was my friend and I was not just another patient. She treated me like I was her sister. No matter how busy she was, she always had a smile on her face. You could tell she was a leader, as her phone never stopped ringing and she was always ready with an answer or to offer assistance to other co-workers or patients. This was all done with the sweetest disposition. She took time to explain my condition and medication to me. She made sure I had something to eat because I was admitted from the clinic and missed lunch. She is everything a nurse should be.
My mother was an ER nurse for 30 plus years. My brother and his wife are both RNs. I know what a great nurse is and Dolores Deffner is a great nurse. She goes above and beyond! UMCNO should be honored to have Dolores. She is a credit to her profession and this hospital.
