Dolores's nomination shared a beautiful story of Dolores delivering devastating news to a family member during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. The nomination describes it in this way, "she maintained fortitude, clinical knowledge, compassion and empathy for the family as she endured the painful conversations." The nomination goes on to say that Dolores "balanced their (the family's) interests and needs with exceptional professionalism, kindness, consideration, and sincerity. She was amazing in her ability to actively listen to the family and 'be present,' acknowledging their pain." This was especially noteworthy since this conversation had to be held remotely.
