Dominic recently took care of an adolescent behavioral health patient in the ER. This patient had previously been here for several days while waiting for placement. During this 2nd visit, Dominic went above and beyond to help care for this patient and to decrease his behavioral outbursts. He took the time to find developmentally appropriate worksheets online, scheduled walks around the department and had the paramedics give the patient a tour of their ambulance as a reward for good behavior. Not only did this help the patient, but it helped the entire ER as well by decreasing the number of resources the patient was needing.
