Here on a visit for the Thanksgiving Holiday we got a call my stepdaughter was found unconscious. She was taken to LA General Medical Center and was admitted to ICU. Her nurse, Dominique, went above and beyond anything I could have expected. She showed an amazing amount of knowledge and compassion. She was always able to answer every question and cared so much about our daughter. It was a very difficult situation, and she helped us weather it every step of the way. You definitely have a gem in her. We will never forget her.

Dominique is a caring and knowledgeable nurse who consistently goes above and beyond her regular duties. She pays close attention to details, and she is good in managing challenging family dynamics. In addition to this nomination that we received, another example of her dedication that happened recently, involves promptly arranging a chapel visit for one of her long-term patients. As soon as her patient expressed a desire to go to the chapel, she called the Primary Team to get an order, put him in a wheelchair, took him down to the chapel, and prayed with him, leaving a positive impact on her patient.  
 
Not only does she excel in patient care, but she also fosters a positive working environment. Prior to transitioning to the day shift, she thoughtfully recognized each of her colleagues with gift bags and award certificates highlighting their unique personalities and characteristics. These certificates included meaningful or playful titles such as “The Boba Cheerleader Award,” showcasing her ability to appreciate the qualities of her coworkers that contribute to a cohesive and supportive team. The “Boba Cheerleader Award” certificate specifically recognizes an employee who adds a burst of happiness to the team with their love for boba. Her dedication extends beyond individual tasks, making her a good patient advocate and a valuable part of our team.
