My brother recently suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital. He had some issues with one side of his face and some numbness in his hand and foot. He was blessed to have had great treatment and by Wednesday, he was back to his normal self- amazing!! It also was his birthday and he was so depressed that he was spending his birthday in the hospital. The doctor came in, in the morning, and said that once he got his life vest that he could go home. The day went on and there was no news on the status of the life vest. While passing time waiting for the life vest, Dominique arranged to have balloons and a stuffed animal to be delivered, as the 7th-floor staff sang Happy Birthday to him. They gave him a signed card and I am sure it is one of his treasures. It sure brightened his day! Still no news on his life vest, Dominique checked on it and there were issues with his insurance covering it. The hospital had a case manager who was working on it. When his supper was about to be delivered, Dominique escorted the life vest representative in. We were able to go home on his birthday! Dominique and the staff were great to work with. She always gave me a straight answer, whether I liked it or not. But she always explained the process; which in this world is amazing... This world needs a lot more of nurses like Dominique!!! Make sure to hold on to this lady as she is a remarkable woman!!
