Donald "Cory" Johnson, LPN
I am currently a patient at the VA Lees-Town 29-1 program.
I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge Cory for the impact that he has had on me and the countless Veterans that come through this unit.
In addition to all the ICARE principles noted, Cory is always professional, always approachable, always compassionate, and always consistent in the manner he conducts himself. It doesn’t matter the time or day. I know I can reach out to him and trust he will listen and respond with love and reason.
I met this man years ago, and he is still as solid and reliable as he always was. With all those notable changes, I’ve seen it’s moving to see Cory’s commitment to helping Veterans has remained the same.
This man is an inspiration not only to Veterans, but to staff as well. God bless this man and his family. It is a real blessing to have him here. I wish him nothing but the best.
There have been multiple times I needed to reach out to someone while here at 29-1. Cory has always been consistent; he has always been approachable. He is a valuable asset to this ever-changing community.
His ability to detach from what he is doing and listen without judgment is extremely important, and I am very grateful he is here. I know I can always count on him if I need something or simply need someone to bounce some ideas off of.
God bless this man. He sets the example for staff and residents alike.
