My husband fell out of bed while we were on vacation in Jamaica and suffered a head trauma exhibiting symptoms. We went to the ER in Jamaica. Upon our return home, we sought neurological consult at the Northwest Hospital ER. After several hours of evaluation and testing, my husband was assigned a room. We were exhausted. We were quite impressed by the care we received by different staff and are forever grateful, however, when we arrived at the unit and met Nurse Donatta our experience was taken to another level, despite our exhaustion. Donatta welcomed us and empathized with us. She reviewed data with us and solicited information to clarify the records. She explained the proposed treatment plan and the purpose of diagnostic testing to be conducted. She demystified complex information and made us feel like participants in our care. We were very impressed. Nurse Donatta is a true DAISY Nurse!
