The patient was called the next day and discussed how Donjurea was an angel for allowing her to talk and taking the time to listen.
Last Thursday, an adult checked in prior to the Adult clinic opening up for a panic attack. The patient was truly distraught and having heaviness in her chest and shortness of breath. Donjurea assessed the patient, took vital signs, and suggested the patient go to the ER for further evaluation of her symptoms. The patient refused indicating her symptoms were due to her panic attack. At this time, Donjurea sat down with the patient. She took extra time to listen. She gave the patient time to calm down and the panic attack subsided allowing the patient to leave the clinic and make her therapy appointment. The patient was called the next day and discussed how Donjurea was an angel for allowing her to talk and taking the time to listen. She stated how Donjurea's kindness and calmness in her time of need, helped her to manage her panic attack and make her appointment. This visit exemplified Donjurea's excellence and professionalism she always exudes to her patients, peers, and colleagues. She demonstrated critical thinking skills, advocacy, compassion, and patient focus.
