My brother was unfortunately brought into the ER due to difficulty breathing and dehydration, at the time my brother was being arrested. A lot of people would just “assume” the worst in the case and give up, however, this incredible nurse took the time to pray with my brother. To help him to calm down. To call my parents to help talk him through what was happening, ultimately leading him to say okay to receiving medical treatment that he desperately needed. My entire family is beyond thankful to Nurse Donna for her empathy, compassion, kindness, the ability to look beyond the cuffs, and the officer in the room to try to focus on helping my brother. Knowing my brother this couldn’t have been an easy task, and honestly who knows what harsh things he may have said to her, but she did it with such grace and compassion that our family is just blown away.
