Donna was nominated by Dr. S for making patients, families and staff members feel appreciated and comfortable and for her commendable selflessness. Dr. S shared during one of her first interactions with Donna was a particularly busy shift; one she was unable to have time for a meal break. Donna noticed this and provided Dr. S with a meal without being asked.
This is just one example of Donna's compassion. Additionally, as a hospital coordinator, Donna often times shifts from this role to bedside nurse during busy times to ensure all patients are provided quality care. Dr. S states "I have come to regard Donna as an authoritative figure and have relied on her for professional counsel during difficult situations with patients. She offers advice gently and with respect for my position as a physician and it has been educational to work with her, not only because of her years of experience, but because of her approachability. She immediately inspires one to become a better person and to work towards the good of all involved parties".
