I am a 24 y/o nursing student, in the last semester of my junior year. I had gotten injured by my cat, as weird as that sounds. I had multiple lacerations and a puncture wound. After going to the ED once before, we went here, and they wanted to do an I&D surgery. I've never had surgery, never stayed in the hospital as a patient. When I finally got moved up to the floor where Donna was the charge nurse, she made me feel really safe. Very cared for, she didn't leave me hanging, she didn't allow me to be in pain. She was beyond empathetic and allowed me to be vulnerable and break down during what was a really scary time for me. She treated her staff well, and it seems as though they adore her too. She's a fantastic leader/nurse. I'm so glad that I had Donna as my nurse during my first-ever hospital stay. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
