On a Friday morning, I brought my 6-year-old daughter to the ER. Not long after that, we were sent back to a bed. Ms. Donna came in and introduced herself and was very friendly. My daughter had to have swabs done in her throat and nose. Ms. Donna explained how it was going to feel and did it as quickly as she could. She also needed a urine sample, but my daughter had just gone to the restroom. She was very patient with her until she got the sample. Needless to say, there were some mishaps and we were there for approximately 8 hours. Ms. Donna blew up a glove and drew a funny face on it to keep her occupied and another nurse gave her some wiki stix. We had been there all day and hadn't eaten and just as my daughter is saying that she was hungry, Ms. Donna showed up with 2 boxes of sandwiches, fruit, cheese and a drink. She said that she knew we were starving since we'd been there all day. She had the best attitude. Every time Ms. Donna passed by my daughter she smiled and waved. My daughter gave her a big hug and told her she was her favorite nurse. It's hard to keep a 6-year-old occupied for an hour much less 8. I could go on about how awesome she is, but I'm sure ya'll already know!
