Donna was incredibly kind. She was incredibly patient. She never made me feel as if my concern was less than. She made me feel at ease.
I have no words to express to you how patient and kind Nurse Donna was with my daughter and me on our recent visit. We were on the phone for one hour trying to get us situated for a visit with the doctor by phone that evening. I’m not going to go into details except to say, she was AMAZING! I never felt pressured or rushed to do anything faster because she was on the phone. Donna assured my daughter and me all was well. I can’t tell you what an incredible relief that was! It took the pressure off. I didn’t want to be taking up her time knowing mothers with sick children far worse than my situation, were calling in. She was incredibly gracious! Donna was incredibly kind. She was incredibly patient. She never made me feel as if my concern was less than. She made me feel at ease.

I’m sure her position deals with many different types of circumstances and personalities, and I’m sure she has had the opportunity to get upset with any one of her calls. However, I don’t believe that she would act any differently than how she treated my daughter and me that night.

Donna’s reassuring voice and peaceful continence made all of this a more peaceful call. After all, mothers are calling in stress with concerns for their children. Having Donna on the other end made all of this SO much easier! I recognize particularly during this epidemic the world is facing now, there are far more important issues with parents than what my daughter and I called about. Donna made us feel at ease right away.

I recognize people are trained to do these jobs. However, what you cannot train is one’s continence, one’s character, and one’s excellence. In my experience with all I have come in contact with at Nemours Hospital For Children, all have two things in common. The first is they all want to be there. It comes across in how they treat my child, like an actual person, someone with feelings and who has something to say about their condition. Secondly, they all have a spirit of excellence about them. This not only makes me want to bring my child there but also gives me great peace in knowing my child will always be well taken care of. Donna is a wonderful representative of Nemours!
