Donna Trinite, RN
I have had the pleasure of being part of PWH for the past 23 years. About a month ago, a family friend’s father became critically ill and passed away.
I am writing to formally recognize Donna's outstanding leadership, compassion, and professionalism in caring for a dying patient, as well as her unwavering support of the nursing staff throughout that difficult time.
During this emotionally challenging situation, she demonstrated exceptional clinical judgment and calm, steady leadership. She ensured the patient received dignified, compassionate end-of-life care, consistently prioritizing comfort, respect, and the wishes of both the patient and their family. Her presence brought reassurance not only to the family but also to the team providing care.
Equally impactful was the support she extended to the nursing staff. She remained accessible, attentive, and empathetic, recognizing the emotional weight such cases carry. She checked in frequently with team members, offered guidance when needed, and created a supportive environment where staff felt heard and valued. Her ability to lead with both strength and compassion fostered teamwork and maintained high standards of care even in the most challenging circumstances.
She exemplifies the very best qualities of nursing leadership – clinical excellence, emotional intelligence, advocacy, and grace under pressure. Our patients, families, and staff are profoundly fortunate to have her guidance and support. I am honored to have been able to work with her, be mentored by her and educated by her over the many years as well.
