I have seen Donna work with her team members and get to know them during her time here. She encourages them to follow their dreams and aspirations, mentors them, while being willing to hold them accountable when they are not meeting standards. She gets to know the patients on her unit that she rounds on, and is willing to sit with them and listen to their stories; she is willing to pray with a patient in spiritual need or just hold a hand for a few minutes so they feel like someone really cares. She uses her 30 years of experience as a nurse to guide those working with her on the art of nursing, which is easy to lose sight of with all of our technology today. We are truly blessed to have Donna running our Med/Surg/Tele Floor here at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital.
