We are very lucky to have Donnett Streeter, APRN, as a part of the wound center family. As one of the longest-tenured APRNs in the Stormont Vail - Cotton O'Neil system, she transitioned from primary care to the wound center July 2016. Upon her start in the center, she was eager to learn wound care and immediately began researching treatment options, she wasted no time and was determined to learn quicker. After a couple of months, it was as if she had been in the center for years! Her ability to manage and heal wounds continues to be a reason our quality measures have never looked better (93% heal rate).
Donnett truly cares for patients and their outcomes. It is not uncommon for her to call patients on her lunch hour or after hours to follow up and inquire about their wounds and if they need anything. She understands the importance of seeing patients in a timely manner, especially when there is a concern for the wound. Prior to Donnett coming to the wound center, new patients were waiting 2-3 weeks to be scheduled, which was not ideal. She is proactive in reviewing her schedule to find time for patients to be seen and researches patients' needs prior to their appointments in an effort to provide the appropriate plan of care.
She exudes Small Moments with patients, staff, and providers. She comes to work with a great attitude and on those "trying" days, she rallies the team to stay positive. Patients who have been discharged from the wound center will often stop by to see Donnett and some even try to sneak in by trying to schedule an appointment just to talk to her!
