Doris Benjamin, RN
I am honored to nominate an exceptional Emergency Department (ED) nurse, Doris Benjamin, for the prestigious DAISY Award. Doris joined the ED team in March of 2006.
For the past 18 years, Ms. Benjamin has consistently demonstrated Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence, which are core values of the DAISY Award. She goes above and beyond to provide the best possible care to Woodhull patients, often exceeding their expectations.
Doris is a true team player whom we can rely on to share the wealth of knowledge garnered from her years of ED nursing experience. She selflessly shares her knowledge with newer members of the ED team, helping them hone their skills and serving as an invaluable resource.
Ms. Benjamin has a gift for making connections with her colleagues and patients, putting them at ease, and making them feel valued. When interacting with patients and their families, Doris takes the time to listen to their concerns and provide reassurance during what can be a very frightening time.
In addition to her exceptional clinical skills, she is also an effective team leader. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to help her colleagues, offering support and guidance when needed. Doris Benjamin is an outstanding role model for our ED nursing community and we are very fortunate to have her as part of our team. I can think of no one more deserving of this honor than Ms. Benjamin, and I enthusiastically recommend her for the DAISY Award.
