Doris Blumberg, RN

Doris provides patient-centered care, using evidence-based practices to improve patient quality and safety. Doris has been a preceptor for new nurses, including me. Doris is hands-on with new nursing staff, patiently teaching new skills and problem-solving. She is a very supportive preceptor.

Doris effectively communicates with doctors, patients, their families, and other healthcare team members. Doris is responsible for delivering patient care according to standards, policies, and best practices. She takes initiative and follows through on patient care plans and reports any issues that could impact patient outcomes. Doris is a definite leader in Patient Experience. She is committed to connecting with her patients and their families.

Almost every interaction, Doris takes the time to sit with them and answer questions about their care. With a nursing career spanning forty-three years with SSM Health, Doris has been a shining example of compassion. Whether comforting a scared patient or mentoring a new nurse, Doris approaches every task with a deep sense of purpose and empathy.

One of the most remarkable qualities of Doris is her ability to make every patient feel valued or cared for, no matter the circumstances. Beyond patient care, Doris is a pillar of support for her colleagues, always willing to uplift others with a smile or a kind word. Doris is more than a nurse; she is a mentor and advocate who has touched the lives of so many.
