After being brought in for an induction, Dorota Wojak-Gruszecka walked into my delivery suite, first thing the next morning, and I instantly got the feeling that this midwife had vast experience and knowledge and knew what she was doing. Dorota instantly calmed me. She set up the room, moved her desk with my notes near me, and took the time to explain exactly what was happening with baby throughout. During a traumatic incident during my birth, despite being rushed into theatre for an emergency CAT1 C-section under GA, Dorota stayed by my side the entire time. She was there the moment I woke up to explain everything that was happening with me and my baby, and she didn't leave my side. She delayed her break as she wanted to ensure she fully supported my partner and me through what was not only such a traumatic experience for us but also for her, which I'm so grateful for. She remained professional and calm throughout. Dorota had such a warm, caring presence, and I believe she was meant to be my midwife that day. She listened to me, consoled me, cried with me, and calmed me on the most intense day of my life, and I will be forever grateful for her compassion and kind nature and for the truly exceptional midwife she is. I will forever be thankful.
