It is said that becoming a nurse is one of the most selfless acts a person can undertake. During the first Covid-19 surge Dorothy (currently working on Mother-Baby Unit) was talking with her friends on the unit she worked on 5 years ago when they told her how difficult it was working with COVID patients while also being understaffed. She selflessly volunteered to help that unit during one of their busiest and emotionally demanding times. She knew the patients needed a nurse to take care of them. This is the true meaning of selflessness, being more concerned with the needs of others than one's own needs. Dorothy stepped up to the plate with grace and without complaint. Dorothy is caring and selfless, the epitome of what a nurse should be and this is why we would like to nominate her for the DAISY award.
