Dorothy (goes by DJ) had two amazing stories that we had to share:
DJ was our amazing nurse that we had during our hospital stay for my scheduled C-section. DJ should receive the DAISY Award because she held my hand in the OR while I waited for my fiancé to come in, she stayed by my side when my fiancé went to go trim the cord, she took pictures of my first time meeting our daughter all on her own, she was very caring and compassionate, she made sure that my 5 year old son had a place to sleep when he came to visit us, she made us feel like she was part of our family, and we felt like she went above and beyond her duties as a nurse. It was a very emotional goodbye and we will never forget DJ and what she did for our family.

I feel like my nurse DJ has helped out so much. I couldn't be happier with how she treated me, my family, and my newborn baby. I thank her so much! I don't think I would have been has strong as I was without her help. She was a great source of help and guidance. She greatly deserves this award because of her hard work and putting up with me and my family. She was very gentle with my baby and she understood me very well. I felt very comfortable with her being my nurse and taking care of my baby. DJ was very good at understanding my pain and helping me cope with it. She helped me calm down by teaching me breathing techniques, gave me pain medicine when I needed it, but the best part of all, she was there for me when I thought I couldn't do it anymore.
Thank you so much Watertown Hospital for having such an amazing, and caring person like DJ. I couldn't go home more satisfied with everything that she has taught me in such a little amount of time. I will now know how to take care of a crying baby thanks to her advice, commitment, and compassion. My family would also like to thank her for helping us so much.
